What air/fuel ratio are you running on track (road course)? My Terminator motor is stock except for Bassani catted X-pipe and cold air intake; 440 rwhp/415 ft/lb. My last track tune included conservative ignition advance in the higher RPMs and a rich air/fuel of about 12 in an effort to keep the engine temp in check.

I just rebuilt the motor after burning 4 pistons. The heads and bottom end (bearings, rods, crank, etc.) all were in great shape, though. I am trying to figure out why the pistons burned. The cracked or frozen rings in two cylinders were a by-product of the pistons getting too hot.

i would focus more on lowering your iat's then the tune on the motor. some things to help with that would be a large intercooler tank in the trunk with a better pump, oversize heat exchanger, and then worst case a killer chiller. hotter the iats get the more timing it pulls so doing road racing or whatever your laps might not be consistent with a heated up heaton.
