When the Camp Fire destroyed Paradise, CA a woman I know loaded up her horse trailer with supplies. We all donated items and money and she just hauled it up there. You might see who in your neighborhood is doing the same.
This. I’m headed to Treasure Island in FL later today to check out a friend’s place and plan to ask the organizations there how I can help.

Yeah. Right now all I’m able to do is donate items needed. We plan to give some stuff to a local collection point.

If you want to donate items it may be a good idea to check with a local fire department to see if they are collecting. Might depend where you’re at in NC.

sorry, monetary donation.
If I was donating funds Id try to send to the mountain mule packers.

Or you can try with the Samaritan purse. They are doing a lot up there too. It’s a Franklin Graham organization. Hope they truly give all they can to those that lost everything.

Other than that there is a local coffee roaster in Boone helping with his coffee sales that I know about. Their coffee is pretty good too.

That’s all I got other than the regular larger organizations.

This was the scene in front of my friend’s place on Treasure Island today. While they got hit hard, it was nothing compared to the destruction I saw in St Pete beach on the drive up.

I’m speechless. These scenes went on endlessly, punctuated by the occasional boat on the side of the road or the burned down structure of what used to be someone’s home.

I know you guys would prefer your natural disasters over ours, but at least at the end of the day our shit is still in one spot.
Only problem in Cali and the earth is moving all the time but when that day comes where the big one hits either LA or SF and its 7.5 or more the death toll will be very large in numbers...San Andreas fault is watched around the clock and they say its overdue for that big shaker.....relax and enjoy it this is only a movie...lol...I had to add that Alexandra Daddario is such a piece of ass....

That area is low as hell. My parents lived in Maderia Beach for years which is just north of Treasure Island, but never got nailed with a big storm. I flipping loved it there.

Leaving my friend’s place (1/8 mile away)

Cops still have a lot of roads blocked because there’s several feet of sand on them.
