Curious as to whether the addition of aftermarket ring gear & pinions requires a new tune. Yay? Nay?

[Edited to reflect ring gear vs. rack...]

Thats what I thought.

The only thing you need to do is correct your speedo. I think you can do that with a chip, but I assume you can also still do the normal of changing the gear in the speed sensor in the trans. I haven't looked into this so I could be wrong. But beyond that, no, you don't need a tune.

you could probably just have your diablo reburned with the new ratio, otherwise i think you need to get one of those speedcal boxes (like the abbott era et al). i don't believe you can swap speedo gears on the 99 and up.

Get an Abbott ERA. I had 4.10's and swapped to 3.90. I'm about to go back to 4.10's. At least with the Abbott you can reset it quickly.
