I was half tempted to get some seat foam and the TMI covers and toss them on some junkyard seats. Might be a cheaper option but you don't get the real leather it's all vinyl unless you pay the premium

I ended up doing TMI 03-04 cobra foam and vinyl/micro suede in my car and can tell you the vinyl isn't the typical stuff you think it is.

The TMI vinyl is much softer than any vinyl I've ever sat in and doesn't feel as plasticy as other seats I've sat in. The micro suede inserts seem to breath pretty well but I admittedly haven't driven my car in the summer to really know.

Additionally a lot of people don't know that the sides of their stock seat covers are actually vinyl and only the parts you sit on/touch are leather. The tmi vinyl is nicer than the OE ford stuff too.

Did you use your sn95 frames or some 99 up junkyard ones?

You can use your stock seat frames. I have an 03 gt but wanted to pop in and provide some info on TMI seats.

If I am following the above conversation correctly there is some incorrect information above.

All 94-04 seat frames are essentially the same. There are some very minor differences but the way the foam sits on the frames is the same.

I am sure someone will try to argue but go look at 03 cobra seat foam on CJs site and see for yourself. It lists that foam for 94-04 cars.

I went through a similar situation with the covers. TMI couldn't get it through their heads that the GT cars had the interior upgrade package that provided better headrests and wanted to sell me the covers with the lame headrests. I just ordered the 03 cobra set and everything fit perfect.

Basically pick any seat foam from 94-04 and match the covers with that foam and you're good.

I forgot about the head rest. I've got some halos that came with the car. And if I recall they never made a true black headrest in the 03 cobra variety

Don't buy the GT 03 cobra setup with the upgraded headrests that they recently came out with. Its a scam. The cobra seat covers are the same and cheaper.

Figure id make an update. Car has since had the IRS installed. Found to be a 99 IRS unfortunately. Put in 4.30s along with an Eaton Trutrak. A new Borla stinger catback to match!

If you don't know, My friend Kevin from Junkyard Digs was generous enough to twist some of his sponsors arms for this project that was done in January. https://www.youtube.com/c/JunkyardDigs

I've enjoyed the swap, but have had to make some changes. The coil over side of the QA1 setup just didn't quite cut it, kept the double adjustable shocks though!

I've also picked up a t45 to put back in the car. The t56 will be going in my Terminator project I picked up this spring!

Did the IRS just bolt straight in? I've read threads with people having a hard time getting it all aligned with the bolt holes

Whoa. Those canned SCT tunes scare me. You're probably leaving a lot of power on the table too.

What spark plugs are you running?
They're custom tunes being uploaded through an X4. Not canned.

Whatever stock plug for an 04 mach is. I don't make enough power to get fancy plugs. Engine is basically an 04 mach engine with 97 cobra cams.

Ah gotcha. Who is doing your custom tunes?

Seats are in and work great! Gotta fix the rears. For some reason they won't unlatch from the seat frame. I had to swap the 03 seats onto the 97 frame, as it fits a little different. They will be coming out this spring for a deep cleaning of the car. Did not realize how much stuff gets under the seats on the carpet over time.

Swap harness was perfect for me too, I like to be able to reverse things if needed got two pigtails and wired them together. All the forms spoke of colors to splice and what not. Sadly these pigtails had black wires. Little time picking through my ford service literature, and determining what pin went where, and things were sorted. Do you have the part numbers for these harness plugs as I can't read them in the picture. I'm doing the terminator seat swap this year. Thanks

I'll dig around and see what I can find. Worse comes to worse, go to a junk yard and cut the plug off the bottom of an sn95 seat, and the plug out of the floor of a new edge.

Did you use the stock 94/98 seat belt attachment to the trans tunnel or convert to the 99+ belt and use the attachment on the seat? Getting mixed info searching thru threads on how this all works out.

Kept the 94-98 buckles to the trans tunnel.

Been awhile since I updated this thread. Tentatively, I have traded my unpainted fiberglass s281 spoiler for this beautiful carbon s281 spoiler. Little brother's best friend is trading his 97 cobra for a 99 EG cobra. He didn't want to see his carbon wing dissappear, so he traded me. As long as the deal goes through its mine.

Too bad the car is sitting without an engine. Lol!

That being said, the planned powerplant will likely be a 10.5 or an 11:1 compression ratio long block with C heads, Todd's cams, and a NEP 10" short runner intake. Headers on the exhaust to suit. Will have boss rods and a cast crank to keep rotating mass down for a good revving engine.

Figure that with the 4.30, a mild built tr3650 or t45 would be a great N/A build to humble some locals!
