currently have a 96 cobra with a fully built bottom end. had it rebuilt over at gios performance, chino ca. planning on boosting but i’m not quite sure which route to go. i can either go D-1SC vortech, or find a pair of C heads, and slap my buddies ported eaton along with it. what do you guys think? price to price difference, along with power to power difference? D1 has some great potential. I would go that route. If you need the "bottom end" you can throw in some gears. Get a good IC or use meth for the cooling.

    d1sc is a procharger not a vortech

the procharger is a much better option given your scenario

Procharger or Vortech for sure. Eaton on a built motor is junk. Much more potential with the centri blower. There isn't much power to be gained by swapping the heads.

some suspension work may be good before you go dumping money to make more power.

but the procharger is the easier route of the 2 you asked about

If he Motor Is already built just go D1SC. I’ve had both on the same car. I had a centri first and then a built motor and fully ported Eaton setup. I wish I had of kept the Vortech I had and just done gears.

The C heads are great flowing heads. However if your adding boost into ge mix the B heads will do just fine.

Built motor with Vortech, Meth Injection, and 4.10 gears here. Pulls hard all day long and is super reliable.

Procharger. C head swap is a LOT of work for not much with your scenario.

I ended up doing both. Vortech and 04 heads.

thanks to everyone who has commented, seems like staying with my built B heads is the answer.

I would stick with the B heads and do a centri supercharger. I was wanting to switch to c heads but stayed with my stock b heads. My 98 cobra made 460rwhp with long tubes and everything else stock. If you’re block is built just turn up the boost. Yes you’ll leave some on the table if not switching to C heads but is it really worth it for a street car?
