I need to cut back on what I will have as it looks like we will be moving to a place where I will not have a lot of space for a shop so I need to decide what I want to do.

I already have my 02 GT that I am doing a built TVS 03-04 Cobra Swap on.

I have an 01 Cobra roller that I was planning on doing a built JT-B or YSi setup, 6pt cage, custom spec’d Magnum and on but the 96-98 Cobra gold a spot in my heart.

If I go 96-98 I planned on gutting my 01 and transferring everything to the 96-98. So all the wiring, lines, sensors, ECU, etc...

What should I do?

not at my post...
Follow your heart! I love the SN95 cobras lookwise over new edge any day. I had an 01 snake before the 03, but that SN95 cobra is still one of my favorite all time.

Man, I love the 96-98 models! Since you have a '02 GT, you need to go with the SN95 style. You will have the best of both worlds.

It's a tough choice. I'm not a fan of the jelly bean Mustang, but they hold a nice place in history. I would look at how complete one car is vs the other, as well as the cost.

I've owned new edges, true SN95's and a S197... I love the Yote, but will sell it before I ever think of getting rid of my 96.

The 01 is True Blue, 01 Front Bumper, 00 R Hood, 03-04 Rear Bumper and haven’t decided between 03-04 or S281 spoiler.

The 96-98 would be repainted either True Blue or Midnight Blue Metallic (05 Ford GT), 00 R Hood, and S281 spoiler.

Both would be the same once you open them up, 01+ Dark Charcoal Interior, 6pt cage, TMI Pro Viper Seats in Dark Charcoal Leather with Dark Charcoal Suede inserts (03-04 Cobra style).

Engine would be Racetec Flat Tops, Teksid Block, Fox Lake Stage 3 C Heads, PSR 01 Intake, NA SVT spec’d cams, 3” exhaust, Vortech V7 JT-B.

Money will be about the same because I can always sell what I don’t use in the 96-98 or swap it all over to my 01 and sell a running car.

See, this in a True or Midnight Blue with an 00 R Hood!

It's a great looking car, but I don't get why people ditch the stock Cobra hood. The thing is beautiful. My favorite factory hood, for sure.

If you like he 96-98 get one. Heck you could probably get a roller or one with a spun bearing cheap. Sell the 01 TB is a rarer color, plus you have an 02 GT in the new edge body style.

No doubt about it. I've always had a love affair with the 96-98 Cobra good. It looks even more badass from behind the wheel, with that middle hump poking up.
After a lot of thought, I went with a H.O. Fibertrends 1" cowl on mine though. It's essentially a 96-98 Cobra hood, with 1" added to the cowl.
