Hey guys, I had my car dyno'd and tuned last october. I have the Trick Flow H/C/I package (track heat intake, twisted wedge heads, stage 1 cam) 75mm throttle body, UD pulleys, new coil, headers, x-pipe, catback, CAI, 90mm MAF i believe, 30 lb injectors, smog pump delete and A/C delete.

It put down 305 hp and 320 torque at the wheels with the final tune. With 15% drivetrain loss, thats about 360 at the crank. I expected more than that. Do you think I should have gotten more?

That's about right for that kit. Ive seen 315-330 with more aggressive cams and larger intakes.. ~300 rwhp is usually the mark to pass NA.

Yeah, Trick Flow advertises 360 hp (at the crank) with their kit. I figured since I have more than just the H/C/I kit, I would have more.

I liked my h/c/i i 94 with its afrs and whatnot spending $$$ to make those same #s.....right up until I lost to my brothers 99 z28 with 160k and a lid/catback.

Slap a blower on it and don't look back. I ran that cam on 11psi on an s-trim @ 430whp. Get the track heat ,rpmii or a systemax, afm b41hr (iirc) and twist it to 6800 on 12psi and meth.

N/a with no cubes sucks

At least try not to walk the mains on a 5.0 twisting it. Or you can rev a 4v to the moon and have a no tq streetcar that's lazy under 4k.

Here is the link for summit... Trick Flow Specialties TFS-K514-360350B - Trick Flow® 360 HP Twisted Wedge® Top-End Engine Kits for Ford 5.0L - Overview - SummitRacing.com

And a little off topic.. I see psu in your name. Are you a current student? I'm a sophomore right now at UP.

nope I graduated UP back in 06, so its been a few years, I have since gone on and obtained another degree, kinda makes me feel old now lol

I miss it but you have to grow up someday

Yeah, Trick Flow advertises 360 hp (at the crank) with their kit. I figured since I have more than just the H/C/I kit, I would have more.

Trick flow proably also had similar "supporting mods" like the larger inlet/TB, exhaust etc to make those numbers.

Those numbers arent bad either. You're making what the "norm" makes, with the typical heads/cam/intake setups on stock 5.0Ls with all those other mods. They usually put down 290-320 RWHP and similar torque, depending on the total combination.

yeah my buddy has a 99 z28 with cat-back and were a close race, i beat him pretty good with a 100 shot, sucks puttin that money into h/c/i and a basically stock z28 and still run with you, but thats how it goes. i think im buying the on3performance kit within the next day or 2 and ill go from there!

Not bad. You can get into the 315 range with some tweaking, but its not really worth it if you plan on boosting it.

I like my 4.6 4V, N/A streetcar. ;) Who needs low end torque, 4.56's solve that.

Keep us updated.

I just bought that kit waiting for install. Sounds about right they advertise 360hp at the crank.

That z28 might take you on the highway but with just bolt on's I ran near identical times in my Cobra (13.89) vs my cold camaro (13.79). Take him to the track and see if you get a different outcome.

yeah thats bout right. You could get a diff cam and intake like stated or buy a 331 kit and then have some fun.
