'88 gt auto trans stuck in N?

Anyone know why this would be? Car starts in N but doesn't want to cycle though the gears.

Any help would be great!

If you can shift it through the gears and it is just reving like in N, the trans is toast. It is not uncommon for a AOD to do it. Usually it will take out OD and R, but I have heard of losing everything.
