I’m looking to do an 8 rib conversion on my 99 mustang gt but I was looking at all the parts on my car and it doesn’t look like the procharger pulley will line up with the alternator pulley if it is 8 rib. Do kits come with something to pull the alternator back towards the firewall a little? Cause it will be so close to fitting but it’ll be like 2 ribs off

I think procharger said 1 rib is about .120” so it’s gotta come out at least .240”. It might have been .130 per rib

the gi joe kit isn’t worth a shit for spacing just FYI

thanks for the info, I was thinking about this one. BGG 96-2010 Mustang Performance 8 Rib Conversion Kit I think it comes with the spacers necessary and all the pullies and a belt too (excluding the procharger pulley obviously)

That’s the other name for the kit I was talking about - it’s not worth a flying **** on procharged cars... at least not for us single bolt tensioner timing cover guys

The land of commies and socialists!
Years ago there was some people who were using 8 rib F150 pulleys with their vortech setups. Didn't seem nearly as expensive as the linked kit above. I believe you want 03 and up 5.4 stuff.

I priced it together on amazon and its about $220 for the f150 pulleys but I'm just wondering what 8 rib belt I would have to run

a lot of people also go to the junkyard and take the 8rib pullies if you wanna go real budget about it.

the belt length will depend on the crank and blower pulley sizes. If you aren't changing anything pulley wise then just get the same length belt you have now but in 8rib. With Gates it's easy a part number starting with K06 is a 6rib, look for the same belt with a K08 for 8rib. Otherwise look up your current belt and find the effective length then look for an 8 rib belt with the same effective length
