We bought a 65 coupe a couple/three years back, and stuffed it and some parts in a garage. It was an original owner car C code (289 4b). We moved the car into shop today and my boys wanted to get started. The discoveries are as follows:
Shelby intake
Holley 600
Mallory and MSD
1 1/8 front sway
Hurst shifter
9 inch rear
Older resto used NOS metal
Engine spins
Rad fluid dark green
Heavy multi core rad.

Happy with body condition. Surprised how energetic the boys were to help.

Pulling engine next.

Nice! I like the interest!

Me too! The youngest has laid claim to the Milwaukee driver. I was under the car disconnecting the drive shaft, and he had the rear bezels and lens sitting on the floor, when I crawled out. I did find the hurst shifter handle had been broke and re welded. He must have drove like an animal!

Can't wait to see it finished. What an awesome father/sons project. One they will never forget. Always nice to see family projects like this. We need of this in our society. Enjoy the project! And be sure to document it with lots of photos and some videos. And make sure your sons get copies. ;)
