I always like to remember how bad something is when it starts so I can enjoy the end result after leaving no stone unturned. This car is definitely a 10 footer at best. The good news, it’s a real Saleen. The bad, it’s definitely had some pretty substandard paint/body work at some point. Some other nice findings like the car being jacked up by the core support a time or five. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that these cars are nearly 20 years old now and the vast majority of them have a history that remains hidden until we tear em down. I’ve never been afraid of cosmetic damage. It can be made new again. As long as the bones are good I’m not scared of any car....depending on what I’m paying of course. This car needs...everything. My realistic estimate of what it will take to meet my expectations when all is said and done? Between $22-$25k. Some might say that’s a waste of money. I say wait until the end to determine if that’s the case or not. So tonight we’re going to get everything suspension and rear end wise out from under the car and get it ready for the newly built 8.8 and full MM suspension including coil overs on all four, torque arm and panhard bar. Once it’s rolling again on the new suspension....off to paint and body it will go. Without further delay here’s some fun/scary starting pics. I could post 20 more but here’s the general theme of the car’s current condition.
Let’s get this thing rolling with some before shots of the...roller. I always like to remember how bad something is when it starts so I can enjoy the end result after leaving no stone unturned. This car is definitely a 10 footer at best. The good news, it’s a real Saleen. The bad, it’s definitely had some pretty substandard paint/body work at some point.
