Small update, I liked the 3M carbon fiber "SALEEN" window banner so much I ordered the "SALEEN" bumper letters in the same material. Turned out great!

Also, I snagged a rare shot of all 3 in the garage, normally one is in storage so my wife can park her Navigator inside. I peed on her spot and claimed it as my own through Sunday.

@BYEPOLR is that coolant tank a custom job or did you order that somewhere? The Moroso tank is a pain in my ass (too close to the procharger head unit)

Love that car, except for all the Carbon Fiber decals.

Shame, I really like how they turned out. Brings some of the SALEEN lineage back into the car while still tying in with the carbon fiber. It looks good too, this new 3M stuff is surprisingly realistic. Clearly with as much carbon fiber as this car has, I'm not trying to be a poser.

I think window tinting is next, 35 all around with 90 on the front window.

This weekend was eventful and productive, I'm trying to tie up some loose ends and dealing with a larger event that knocked me off course with the build (more on that in a couple weeks).

Got a new power steering pump installed to eliminate an annoying leak that kept getting fluid on the belt and then all over the engine bay. I dropped the fuel tank and will be installing a roll-over valve and a -6an vent line to allow the tank to breath. she's building up pressure as the fuel gets hot from the return style fuel setup and the lack of venting means I have to fill the tank slowly. (photos to come when the roll over valve arrives)

Moved some of the fuel lines away from the exhaust. The lines were ran before the exhaust was fabricated so it all ended up a little too close for my taste.

The plugs for the Holley coil drivers put just enough pressure on the back of the glove box that it started to deform after a year or so. Grabbed a piece of aluminum and remounted the coil rivers with the aluminum stock behind the glove box. Super easy fix.

Sorry these updates are all pretty minor, the build is nearing the end. I will continue to update it as I go along to make sure the whole build is documented, regardless of how minor the progress.

Got the -8an roll over valve installed in the gas tank and vented to the filler neck. Everything went smoothly other than I'm terrible about grabbing photos while I work. Luckily I was able to jam my iPhone up next to the tank and grab this shot of the Roll over valve.

Received my smoke tester tonight, hooked it up, blocked the turbo, cracked the throttle body and let it run. No leaks noted. I'll spend more time with it tomorrow. I really want to ensure I have zero leaks before I start more tuning.

Also, swapped out the chrome Mustang for a black one. Looks great, can't wait to see it in the sunlight. i sure wish I could find a real carbon fiber version. Sigalia Designs/HCM tried to custom wrap one for me but they couldn't make it work.

Here are some samples of hydro-dip carbon fiber I found. Looks to be something that might really work for you. I found more, but the new site won't (yet) allow uploading a 1280X720 image. Only seems to allow under 1000X800 (or similar) and smaller.

My issue with hydro dipping is seems like you frequently get an unnatural curve in the pattern

I purchased a hydro-dipped mustang off eBay a year or so ago and it was horrific. I need to research higher quality dips. It would certainly complete the look but it needs to be exceptional quality or I’d rather just stick with black.

That 3m wrap stuff would probably look better than dip honestly… drawing a blank on the guy here with the TT single cab f150 that did his interior with it

I can’t imagine the 3m wrap following the contour, however, I have some uncut material coming for other projects. I could give it a go…

Got a little more done today.

First, I simplified the attachment of the gas tank breather to the fill neck, just found a 1/2" barb to -8an male, much cleaner now! It's the little things that cause me to lose sleep...

Then I moved into the engine bay, re-did one of the hoses going into the stepper motor. Previously it was rubbing on the back of a intake air temp sensor, I was worried about the wires chaffing.

You can see the hose here in this older photo

This is where it was rubbing on the back of the intake air temp sensor

While it's close, it is no longer touching:

Ok guys I’ve been keeping this to myself because it was kind of embarrassing, but about 2 weeks ago I was driving down the road at 30mph and the hood decided to open up on me. Luckily I had the windows down, wasn’t in heavy traffic and was close to home. This was the result.

I didn’t trust any of the hinges or latch so my wife brought my 4R out and we strapped the hood to the rack for the 5mi drive home.

Kind of in shock it happened, especially driving home with the broken windshield.

Luckily this was the ONLY scratch to the hood. Zero structural damage was done to the hood, just bent the hood support brackets, broke the glass and this small scratch and no one hurt. Extremely lucky!!

Before the day was done I ordered
new OEM glass all around, SALEEN window decal, hood support brackets, hood pins and scheduled it for tint.
