I'm a huge Metallica fan, of the OLD stuff!! I do not like the new stuff at all.
I've been waiting for songs like these for over a decade. Don't get me wrong... there's stuff on Load and ReLoad that I like, but I definitely like this and The Day That Never Comes a lot more.
And of course Puppets and Ride are better, they're classics. But I've already got those albums. I don't need them to re-release them, I want to hear new shit.

If this isn't standered thrash metal that gets your blood pumping I don't know what is...especially the last minute of the outro of this song...you can hear that pick just going up and down feriouclsy on that guitar:rockon:
Hell I like this song already more then a handful of their old catalouge already minus the big bruisers...creep,blackened,master,ride....etc.
i completely agree. the so called *true* metallica fans(hate everything black and later) are never gonna like any of their new stuff because they are already telling themselves its gonna suck. i love the stuff from this new album! i think getting away from bob rock was a big part of making this album what it is. im gonna happily be waiting in line for the album when it comes out, while all the haters are sitting at home listening to their old tapes.
There is just no meat and potatoes in their new stuff.

You know what? the "True" Metallica fans made those bastards freakin rich! The "New" Metallica fans want a single and download everything free off the net.
I want a start to end kick ass album that makes me feel completely exhausted after listening to it. The old stuff took you somewhere, the new stuff is filler at best. The Old Metallica had no filler. The Black album as perfect sounding as it is, was the start of radio singles.

its not bad but it doesn't sound near as good as their old skool stuff. i do like it better than the crap they have been puttin out for the last 15 years, so.....
actually, it was the "new" fans that made them rich, when they released the black album(how many people that bought it owned an old metallica album? i would bet that its not the majority). thats when you started hearing people talk about "well, us *true* metallica fans...". either way though, i dont care. this album sounds damn good to me and im gonna enjoy it. if everyone else is just gonna bitch about it not sound like "back then", so be it, not like i care if they're happy or not.
Always been a huge Metallica fan, they just started losing me a bit with St. Anger. And not because I mind James "singing like a nancy." I've only heard that first song so far, 'The Day that Never Comes' but it just seems to lack something. Focus or inspiration or something.
