I've done a little bit of searching and haven't found anything quite like the problem I'm having. I'm running a 3.0 RR pulley on my car with a new 2.3 Whipple and stock TB. Problem is I'm only seeing 14lbs?
Car has a hilton boost overlay that was working fine with the old eaton setup, but could it just be a faulty gauge? Car is almost done being tuned by Amazon, but I'm not sure I should go any farther until I'm actually seeing 17lbs. Running a 76" belt so I doubt I'm getting any belt slip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Stock manifolds with a catted x-pipe and stingers. Stock lower pulley with metco idlers and bf tensioner.

My Gen 2 made 19psi with a 2.75" pulley. Every car is different. How many miles are on your car? Boost is just a measurement of back pressure. Also the Hilton overlay isn't the most accurate or gauges. I had to calibrate mine for 19psi. But I know its off below that. Try another gauge.

I once had a twin turbo z that's his boost Guage was only reading half of actual psi...an engine later and now I always run 2 guages

The car has 40k on it. I'll try another gauge as soon as I can get my hands on one. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something simple that I missed. Thanks.

You can check for boost leaks if you'd like. With the car running spray some brake cleaner around the base and back of the blower. A leak will cause a variation in idle. Works better with a second person and a wideband hooked up. But id bet money its just the gauge. If you search around you will see that the majority of them are off alittle.

would the stock tb be enough restriction to cause the low psi? seems like a big chokeing point for a ts even if it is a smaller 2.3

I'm hoping it's just the gauge. I'm going to go check all the lines for the egr delete and make sure none of them are loose. And I'm sure the stock tb does have some restriction, but I doubt it's 3-4 lbs worth.

try another boost gauge to check... did you calibrate the needle when you did the overlay? my gen 2 had 17# on 3" and 19# on 2.75... with mid length headers

I haven't calibrated it with the 17psi. The previous owner(buddy of mine) calibrated it when he installed it on the old eaton setup and everything was fine.

Mine s off the same amount with the overlay. I should be 19 and am showing 15. Let me know if it is the guage, I think mine is off.....

I'd put the car on a dyno and see, but I'd also get a dyno tune. Did you recalibrate the gauge when you put the over lay on?

defintate check on the recalibration. I had the low overlay and put the 24 lb overlay on and recalibrated the gauge. may want to try that as well

It's a low boost overlay and yes it was calibrated by the previous owner when it was installed for the pullied eaton. And I'm letting rick@amazon do his thing, don't need a dyno at the moment.

Wanted to bump this up with a question...I did find a little leak in the lines for the EGR delete and fixed them, but the gauge is still only reading 14lbs. Data logged the other night and found that my alternator is probably bad. Also had my battery checked and that should probably be replaced as well even though its fairly new. My question is, could this be costing me a couple lbs of boost?

Put a real gauge on the car and then see where it sits. My old car with LT's stock ported TB no cat's no Egr with the 3.0 saw 17 lbs
