[QUOTE="CO Mack, post: 15569634, member: 161833"] The only real difference that matters for a street focused, occasional track day car is the coolers. Going into a limp mode would suck. Ford repeatedly said it was just a cooler kit. I don't care if my Tech car is THEORETICALLY 0.1S slower than a Track, as long as it's not annoying me by going into limp mode. I'm there for fun; you don't win trackdays. Plenty of Rs are going to be getting passed by Miatas at tracks all over this country. The internet commandos like to talk about 10 pounds of nav or whatever, but I don't care if the thing is 100lbs heavier. I wanted a performance car that was awesome for road trips with the family and could do track days. I fully believed that's what I was getting. The only error in my thinking was the transmission...that's not worth lawyering up over. It's just annoying. I wasn't looking for a race car, and I'm not confused about what a race car is as it seems like some here on the forum are. The stock Recaros are not particularly good track seats. I have the Recaros in my FoRS and I find them no more, or maybe a tiny bit more laterally supportive than the Tech seats while being much less comfortable. I have a Race Tech race seat in one of my other cars. That's a, fully approved, exceptionally supportive track seat. It's also a PITA on the street, mainly because it's hard to get out of without whacking my door into a car parked next to me. If I really wanted to go fast in my GT350, I'd have tried to buy a Base, because the interior is getting stripped/tossed for actual track stuff, the wheels are getting tossed, and I'm going to want high end dampers that are easily adjustable, linear in response so it does the exact same thing in every corner, and damn any comfort off track.
