I've seen some fairly innocent comments from individuals that claim they have run into limp mode while merely "street" driving. I give them the benefit of the doubt but admit, I have yet to see any data logs that show it cropping up when off track. Tremec worked hand in hand with Ford to design and develop a TR3160 gearbox for the GT350. Both were well aware of the heat generated by the rpm's that the 5.2 can create. Cooler development ensued. Hardware was developed to mitigate the issue. In the eyes of some, for sure. For the rest, they'll purchase/install the requisite hardware, and possibly actually go to the track and have a blast. I agree with your sentiment. But I fault Ford on a few counts here. The ADM Monster needs to be slayed so that people that actually want to purchase and enjoy the car can do so without deep rectal probing. Then, sans probing, clear and concise language needs to be used such as "IF YOU EVEN REMOTELY PLAN ON TRACKING THE CAR, GET THE COOLERS. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO, YOU OWN THE CAN OF WORMS SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO OPEN IT UP BECAUSE THIS ****ER SCREAMS LIKE A BANSHEE AND AS A RESULT MAY GET HOT AS ****."
