Gonna stick the 315 Nitto DRs on the Vert.
For a person who will not be driving fast on these tires, is the wheel upgrade necessary? Not looking for optimum, will not be doing anything but putt-putting on these tires. Oh, maybe an exhibition of speed from time to time.
Anyone getting away with the stock rims?
(I know what Nitto says, but these things look a lot like 295s to me.)

If I have to upgrade the wheel, recommendations?

Well until he did a big burnout or 2 big burnout's. Now he noticed that he is running low on the tire.

I am a 315 Nitto owner past and present. Great tires and they work great on the street. No traction problems on regular pavement and they are very big. All Cobras should have 315 Nittos on the back standard. According to Nitto, they also work great for autocrossing but not road racing since heat buildup on a road racing course is a problem. Autocrossing is sort of the 1/4 drag strip of road racing and the tires don't have time in a run to get too hot for safety. They also grip like thes semi slicks that they are.

Well JW, I love my Nittos. I've noticed more grip on the street from the beginning. If all you'll be doing on them is driving around town, I'd say go with the stock size. You'll save money. I only bought 315 because I knew I'd be using them at the track. They wear very well when you don't do burnouts with them. After C-bad, and my 2 awesome burnouts, I really noticed the wear on them. Before that, they seemed to be wearing almost like regular street tires. I suppose that's an advantage they have over the BFG DRs, they don't wear as fast during regular use.

Hope that answered your question.

Well at least the car will look mean.

George,
I'm giving up on handling for a while.

No more responses needed -- picking them up tomorrow.
I have fed the monster and am at peace again.
No more Cobra stuff until the sillyass Xpipe gets in :nono:
