i have 2 options on the build i am starting. i have a 302 that i got from a friend that needs to be rebuilt if i go with this i am going to build a 306 with forged internals and a nice HCI and a 75 shot on it. my other option is i know a guy that has a 351 and wants 200 for it he said it was running when he took it out of the truck. it is a EFI motor so it must not be that old. if i do that i will also build it 30over and with forged internals and the same set up.but is it really worth it to build the 351? can it hold that much more power then the 302?

302 with some AFR and nitrous = fun plus you'll have better balanced you won't have all that wieght in the front

I say go for the 351. The block is more stout and can handle about 100 more hp than a 302 block. While it is roughly 75lbs heavier, you can use aluminum heads and lose the A/C to bring it back to 302 weight balance. You can also mount your battery to the trunk to get better weight distribution.

As the old saying goes "there is no replacement for displacement".

ya i am going to buy a 4 banger and do all of the suspension first and then the tranns and at that point build a 302 and buy the nitrous and spray the 2.3 till it blows and then use it on the 302 but at a minimum

for a carb or fuel injected motor you need/want
cowl hood
351w headers
351w lower intake
351w oil pan
front accessory drive bracket

I dont see much of a big deal moving up to the 351w over the 302, IMO go for the 351w.
