2nd story loft in log home dangerous

Quick question for everyone:

My wife and i are building a log home to move into next year. we want to add a loft on the second story. it will have all the proper railings, etc.

Does anyone feel this is too dangerous due to the fact we plan on having kids? Thanks.

I've seen it in log homes before. I imagine if you make sure your spindles for the railing are close enough together, it shouldn't be an issue.

Sounds fine to me, use chicken wire and barbed wire along the railings and in b/t the spaces. I love log homes, good luck!

If done right and with ^^^^^ the baby gates, all is OK.
