Hey guys, I just picked up a 1999 cobra with a t56 swap today. Car runs and drives great and shifts fine but when you try to shift into 2nd or 3rd (sometimes even 4th) at over about 5k rpm it's like it locks me out for a second or two before it let's me hit the gear. It's odd because if I come out of the clutch somewhat slow while still trying to push it into gear it will engage. It's quite frustrating as it takes a lot away from the car constantly missing shifts.

I did some reading and was looking into the anti venom mod. Could this help?

I tried to adjust the clutch cable using the OEM manual procedure but I'm not sure if it still uses the stock adjuster beings ig was swapped and I'm still somewhat new to manual.

Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it? Please help!

You need to get under the dash and see if it has the stock quadrant or not. I had a lock out issue in my 01 until I adjusted the clutch. I had an aftermarket quadrant and firewall adjuster though.

The anti-venom mod lowers shift effort. I did it to my old T-56 and have plans to do it to my current one. But I don't see it helping the lock out. That's usually a clutch issue. Although it probably wouldn't hurt to drain the fluid and check it out. Then refill it yourself so you know it's the proper level.

UPDATE! Driving the car this morning I noticed the trans only does it when it's hot but not when the tranny is cool

Change the fluid in the trans. Use amsoil ATF or mobil 1 ATF
