Weight. The new heavy-duty trucks are tanks.
I'm not sure how well I can trust Edmonds, but it listed a 2023 F250 shortbed at 7331lbs for a curb weight. That was the Platinum as they didn't have the 6.7L option for the Lariat. My 2015 rolled over the scales at around 8700lbs with three people and about a half tank of fuel. I'd imagine the rest of the line is probably similar in weight to other years.
Starting off in 2nd gear, managed 0-60 in 5.5 (and that was a Tremor Lariat, with 35's). 1/4 mile is weak as Ford limits top speed to 94/96 ish I think.What’s the update on the HO version? I need the details as soon as humanly possible before I get overwhelmed with anxiety

My towing weights. (Includes close to 7-800ish in bed, for tools/spare offroad rig parts, that I load in with my bobcat on a pallet)
Trailer is not a ton of weight, but with a 7 foot tall FSB (on a "taller" deck over) with 43" tires, and a full EXO, it's like pulling a parachute.
I tow about 70-73. About the same as my 05 Dodge (Cummins), that had a programmer and dual stage Meth kit. I'd guess that was 375/800 Gross HP/torque.
This thing feels like triple the power. You can be in slow lane, come up to a slow moving dump truck lets say, and bang into the fast lane (which is 80-85 on most jersey highways), about the same as you would with a mild performance sedan.
I haven't actually floored it yet, not even up the 17%, 1/4 mile grade in the Pa's Mnts., right near AOAA offroad park entrance.
I admit I have never towed with 6.7 SO, so this might not be that big a deal compared to that. But on the F250, the HO gets you the 11,400 GVW package, which is almost a grand if spec'd by itself. So if you want that package anyway, it makes HO only $1500ish more than SO. It also gives you identical build as a base F350, but saves you a grand over exact same truck. I used that grand for a rear locker, rear defrost, optional front wheelwells.
The big thing I effed up on was not getting power fold/telescope mirrors (my Dodge had std towing mirrors, so I never really realized how big the mirrors are on these newer truck) . Only a $280 option by itself. Will cost me a grand probably to upgrade to that, eventually.

Hell, my 2001 F-250 SuperDuty with a V-10 crossed the scales at 7,800 lbs empty, as in just a topper, 1/2 tank of gas and me in it. Hard to believe the newer ones weigh less.

My 2017 ccsb weighed 7400lbs with the diesel.
My 08 was 650lbs heavier.
I think the 08-10 trucks may have been the heaviest. A dressed 6.4PSD weighs nearly 1,500 pounds by itself.
