2021 NASA Championships

This week is the 2021 NASA Championships down at Daytona. They'll be running the road course! Looks like a huge turnout and am jealous that I won't be attending. I have 4 buddies making the trip, so it'll be fun to see how they fair against national competition.

Disclaimer: I opted not to participate because I hate roval tracks. I'm not nearly comfortable enough on the high banking in order to be in contingency for the win, and going into it, if I know I won't be super competitive, I'm not willing to spend the time/money to go down there.

I still maintain if you can win in spec miata, youre probably one of the better non-pro drivers on the planet. All of those guys are crazy good.

$8k cash to win the classes with 30+ cars.

Austin, anyone else from our region going? Based on distance, I can’t imagine more than a couple would make the haul but it’ll be fun to root for them though.

Dan is a fast driver - I watched him in early Aug in an MX5 cup at the Road America IMSA race. Does Dirks still run SM? That kid was quick

A couple 944 and SM guys it appears. None of the CMC guys are going.

1st practice day is today. Each group has had one session, and starting session two.

Daniel Goldburg in his Ligier JS P320 ran a 1:47.828 in his first session....that's 1 second faster than the Huracan STO did it. Insane.

You should... SM breeds fast driving. They are a great tool.

Ohhh an LMP3 car. I thought it was some trendy TT boi with big wings. That makes more sense now.
