I really wish they had utilized aluminum ala the F series. Pony cars are SO heavy now. I remember when the 3,665 lb. terminator couple was considered heavy. I mean the car is going to be stuck but imagine if it were 3,800 or less.

Frankly that is disgusting.
Blowout the designers and engineers who signed off.

Try 3,820lbs

Where ya find that?

Not that's it's a big deal over 60lbs.

Yet the joy of the ZL1 is felt in what makes the current Camaro good in so many ways. While it’s far from light (3,880 pounds for the base ZL1 coupe), there’s a certain athleticism to it that was missing from its bloated predecessor. And with 650 horsepower, it just wants to keep going.

I should have probably specified that the 3820lbs is for a ZL1 with the 1LE option.

A single cab '19 XL F-150 has a curb weight of just 4069lbs.
(A 2019 Ford F-150 XLT 5.0L 4WD with a regular cab short box weighs 4,343 pounds)

I told my friend the exact same thing. Where in the hell is the weight on this mustang? It even has lighter meterials. Aluminum F150 has a full beefy frame and heavy duty suspension parts and what not, yet it weights less/the same. Amazing.

It's baked into the S550 platform... extra plastic buttons and clips literally everywhere.. far more than my 2 s197 cars.... .tons of extra bracing all over the place.

The benefit is a car that rides nicer, is quieter, and doesnt rattle as much.
