Curious to the gains on an 11-14 coyote and any install tips. Thinking about going this route seeing how cheap they are and wanting to keep engine bay looking as factory as possible. I know you have to buy IMRC lockouts. Curious to where they go and any vacuum lines that need to be rerouted, extended, capped, etc. Plan on getting returned for this obviously.

The only comparison is it made like 3-4hp more than a GT350 manifold on a full exhaust 15-17. I don’t know if it was on E85 or not but probably so. One guy made 19hp more on his full exhaust 11-14. Brett Barber (Air Flow Solutions) is running a special on the 18 manifold selling them at $500 ported to your door. Better get on it quick because his first round of manifolds were sold before they got to him.

Does the 18 manifold have the 11-14 style head ports or the 15-17?

I'm still not convinced it's better than the gt350 manifold. Doesn't make any sense considering Ford said the new Bullitt was getting a gt350 manifold as an upgrade

what would be interesting is comparing the gt350 manifold and 87mm tb with the 18 manifold and the stock 80mm that comes on each- this is where the gt350 manifold I think will shine with the 87mm tb it is designed for. especially with a centri or turbo with 15psi and up.

My thoughts exactly, no way the GT350 isn't an improvement even very slightly.

I mean yeah for $1500 I would hope it would be better than a $260 setup lol.

$1500 are talking about a cobra jet now, what fool pays that much on a GT350 setup. Ive seen several full GT350 setups for $600-$700 slightly used recently due to the 18s. Also Id closer compare the 18 manifold to a slightly less efficient Boss manifold. 11-17 Stock Manifold<18 Stock Manifold<Boss<GT350<Cobra Jet

Update. Installed 2018 manifold with tune revision from lund. Install was a breeze. Locked out IMRC, replumbed EVAP using hose and clamps from auto parts store, and had to extend brake booster hose a few inches. According to datalogs it looks like it gained around 25-30hp. (MAF flow rate went from 45 lbs/min to 48). Rev limit is set to 8200rpm. No dyno numbers or track results yet. If I remember I'll post up track and dyno numbers on here. Doesn't feel like I lost too much low end torque, probably mainly due to 3.73s, but it definitely pulls better up top. This is coming from a stock manifold so I can't compare to other manifolds from personal experience, but it was definitely worth the low cost.

I was at my tuner today going over stuff on my car and he showed me the dyno graph of a 2011-2014 NA car that made 375 rwhp then they just swapped out to the 18 manifold and in less than 30 mins ran the car the with the same tune and it made 415 rwhp a gain of 40 rwhp from a gen 1 intake to a 18 intake on a gen 1 engine na. pretty Great Gains for the $$.

That's impressive, gaining 40whp from a manifold and tune. In theory that would mean manifold + tune reached the same peak whp as a gen 3 coyote.

Both of these un-ported and with 80mm TB?

That's a pretty impressive gain per dollar.

What people aren't realizing is yes it does pick up 30-40HP over stock but all over 5500.... like a Boss intake that is only slightly more expensive and been around forever and give it a little time and I bet the 18 mani will be well over $400 from Ford in no time.

Have you never gone wot in your car? yes it makes its gains over 5500 rpms but lets take my car for example 2014 Procharged mustang Automatic 3.15 gears the 1-2 shift drops my rpms to 5000, 2-3 to 5300 rpms and 3-4 to 5500 rpms. So gains at and over 5500 rpms is fine, if not even desirable for people who actually race their car as I'm under 5500 rpms for less than a full second during my runs so it means diddly squat. BTW I was able to get mine for $260 locally, I'm sure the price will go up as well, shit steak costs 2x the amount it did 10 years ago, if you think prices stay the same over time you are fooling yourself.

90% of people buying these intakes are not going WOT often if at all, just letting them know what they are in for, You are a good example of someone actually using the car as intended but most dont thats all. I personally have a ported CJ setup so I know all about those top end RPM gains trust me lol but i knew what to expect also.

you are gaining over 5500, you are loosing virtually NOTHING below 5500, win win.
