Today we took in our customer Darel's 2013 F-150 Raptor 4 Door for our 650 HP package along with some other goodies to get this thing moving :burnout:

Darel has a 2005 Saleen Extreme car we built and is no novice when it comes to speed! So we suggested for startes, The JDM Engineering Whipple 650 HP Supercharger Package. Not only does this kit include the Massive 2.9L Whipple supercharger, it comes with larger 60lb/hr fuel injectors, NGK Iridium Spark plugs (16), a 3.250" Supercharger pulley for a little extra boost  with the corresponding belt, and a SCT Xcalibrator 3 programmer that we will later use for dyno tuning. This is what you would call the Full Monty!

We suggested to help pull in the maxium amount of air for his supercharger to add a Ford Racing Super Cobra Jet Monoblad throttle body which he happily agreed to! The Mono blade will improve throttle response and add up to 20 more HP! Darel wanted to give the truck some more sound so we suggest a Kooks Full True Dual exhaust system with Longtube headers, high flow cat pipes, and true dual rear exit catback. This should help add more power, performance, and sound to Darel's 6.2L engine. To help limit rotational mass on the drivetrain we suggested a Driveshaft Shop Aluminum 1 piece driveshaft. This driveshaft is better balanced for high speeds and drops nearly 20lbs from the drivetrain!

There are a few other Accessories we are installing along with these upgrades like Vortex Mud Gaurds, Ford Racing 8" Auxiliary Fog lights, and a set of the discontinued FRPP Blue Valve covers.

We are going to share photos and information on this truck here as we go along hope to have it finished this weekend:coolman: Any questions about the parts or this truck feel free to contact me at [email protected] or call 732-780-0770.

Thanks,

JimIII@JDM

Stock motor!!???

Yup, we have done this before with many a Raptor. The stock engines can handle about 700 HP before requiring Rod and Piston upgrade. The truck should make about 500+ RWHP on 93 octane with all the mods installed.

Here is the Kooks exhaust system going in! Getting some good progress today. Exhaust should be finished along with the driveshaft and coil covers. Just have to do the blower and fog light install by the weekend:rolling:

I think thats awesome, however I cannot accept that the stock block will handle that for long.
How does it perform with towing?

Well we have been supercharging these trucks for a few years, haven't had any issues yet! Not many of our customers tow with these, but we did tow with our 5.4L Whipple charged Raptor and it performed well. The torque from the blower makes it very easy to pull and climb steep grades.

We had the truck dyno tested last night and were very excited with the outcome! With the 650 HP Whipple package, Kooks True Dual exhuast, and Mono blade throttle body the truck ended up making 591 RWHP and 550 TQ!! This is the most we have made with a Whipple Supercharger on the Raptor trucks! We took 2 psi boost out of the truck and are down to around 550 RWHP now for safety of the stock engine. He is still running 93 octane and we now the limits of these engines.

Jim,

Over on FordRaptorForum, a few guys have shown concerns about the supercharger upgrade catching trucks on fire. Do you guys do something different to keep that from happening, or have you just not seen that happen in your experience with them. I considered this, but the fire concerns discouraged me. I may have to rethink that if I can be sure its safe.

I have not heard of this before?! Where are they saying this is coming from?
