I have a stock mustang short block that I'm considering a low cost forged rod & piston swap/build then swap into my 13 f-150 and add some decent boost with a PD or Turbo prefer Turbo. I use the truck to pull my mustang with a 20' tandum car hauler.
Want the truck to be able to pull it at 80mph without knowing it's back there.. Lol
Maybe do my own version of a Coyote Ecoboost ..
But want it to last that's why the idea of doing forged pistons & rods I'd leave stock cams & heads I'd be building it for low rpm power & tq..
It's a 4x4 with 3.55's all the tow good's including integrated trailer brake controller from Ford factory.
Crazy ideas! I will probably keep the stock for a spare and forget about it unless I have a failure..
