With good tires you can run with the GT500 all day in the 1/4. I went from an 800whp GT500 to a ''13 LS. I'm gone before my friends can even get off the line.

I went 11.87 all stock on DR... Not sure what a 11-12 GT500 can do, but I'm thinking with traction its still a drivers race. I would think with equal drivers the GT500 might have the edge... But not by a lot.

depends on if the Shelby can get into 2nd gear. I've had 2 Shelby's, couldnt get either one of them into 2nd gear while drag racing. On the other hand, my bone stock Boss ran 12.3's at 117mph. it's a driver's race imo.

You guys that are saying the GT500... What does a 11-12 GT500 run in the real world all stock? In the magazine tests its no faster than a stock Boss..... In fact in most mags its a tenth or two slower..

The guys who say GT500 haven't owned one prob. Drag radials on the Shelby is a different story. As mentioned before find a 2011 that can find 2nd gear.

The gt500 can skip second and still put a bus length on the boss.

:lol1:

No but really the track key is worthless
If he can hook he has a broad torque band and will reel you in and walk away.

Its just the facts of life. Bigger engine and supercharged.

The GT 500 if it has tires and a driver should take your Boss by a few cars. If you can drive it and he's spinning the first 60' it will be door to door at the end. I loved my twin screw 04 but the Boss is really a terrific car for what it has under the hood...

11.11...., not sure I buy that... But I guess its possible. If 124 mph is honestly possible stock then a boss has no shot. But I havent seen any 13 GT500s on Dr that could do that 11.11... So????

For a reference. my Boss vs a 2012 GT500 last weekend:

Me at the 1000' point (that's all we have): 10.41@ 103.35
GT500: 10.28 @ 110.89

Close at the 1000' point, but he would be pulling hard for the last 320 feet (if we had another 320 feet).

Both cars stock. Oh, and this wasn't a side by side run. My best run against his best.

Up here in New England, 2013 GT500's are averaging 12.3's-13.2's @ 118-120mph... They can't put any power down before 300' with the stock tires on the drag strip....
