I bought a 2011 V6 to use as a daily driver. It replaces my 35 MPG 2008 Focus so fuel economy was really important. In this case I did not upgrade to the 3.31 gears so it has the stock 2.73 rear gear ratio.

Has anyone driven both? Is there a big difference in the feel of power or does the 3.31 gear car seem to take off faster? I bought the 6 speed manual and as advertised it should get 30 MPG. I can only assume that 2.73 gears helps the fuel economy more so than the 3.31s.

I expect the car to arrive next week. I am driving my 03 cobra daily now and ready to play with my new toy. I hope this 2011 V6 is not a big mistake. I could get a 2010 GT for a few thousand cheaper. Fuel economy would annoy me I am sure on a 2010 GT. THOUGHTS before I take delivery.

2011 V6 Grabber blue coupe, nav/electronics package, security package, comfort package (heated seats etc), 6 speed manual, pony package (cosmetic/appearance), HID lights, extended overseas warranty 7year/75,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and shipping to Germany $31K

Don't worry about it because I've run the numbers and the 3.31's are not a worthwhile upgrade. 3.73's are the way to go.

I've got a thread about it somewhere here about the v-6's and gears. 4.10's would be better still (2800rpm in 6th at 80mph) but what holds it back is 1st gear. It's way too steep (4.236) and would really suck with 4.10's.
