My uncle's car with the minimal mods that I listed in my original post ran a better time than all of those cars and my '11 GT with x-pipe, K&N filter and 93 octane tune put 5 to 6 car lengths on his '03 Mach 1.

Go with the Procharger if you don't care how you make your power. And FR500s are relatively mild when it comes to N/A cams.

I noticed you have the FR500 cams. Would you suggest getting them or the Comp cams instead. I want to stay NA with my MACH but I want a little more out of it.
Did you pull the motor to install the CAMS? If you did not install them yourself, what is a normal installation cost?

I would appreciate any information you could give me because I am out of boltons and this is my next step.

im not worried about a stock 5.0 with the way i got my mach set up (from a dig anyway) but just a few mods on one and im looking at taillights!!! you know the old saying "if you cant beat-em join-em....i may have to do just that the more and more i see how great of a car it is.

Been there done that, traded in my 04 mach 1 back in 04 for a left over Cobra and never looked back. I was tired of cobra's half track passing me like i was standing still.

bro? no i hate how people are all over cobra's nuts like they're the ultimate car and god forbid if anything loses to one.

This thread is actually about 2011 Mustang GTs and Mach1s. The only people talking about Cobras are the ones comparing it to a 2011 GT. :read:

I love the new 2011 Mustangs, bought my wife a new V6'er, and even it's impressive! I would hope that an eight year newer, more technologically advanced 5 liter 4V motor could put the hurt on a mild bolt-on Mach 1 in a roll race. It's called progress, and some people just have to get used to the fact that they're gonna get beat. That's life.

I embrace the new generation of Mustangs, but I don't fear them.

Don't even get people started on the car lengths thing... You can even have video of said event, and they will come up with some deal like "Car x needs a driver, something wrong with Car x." 5-6 car lengths isn't huge, especially when talking about a race starting from 30mph all the way through the gears.

I always figured a car length = around a tenth to .15 in the 1/4 (with a little margin for error). Given the Mach runs bottom 13s and the GT with the minimal mods probably runs 12.4-12.5, and much of the Machs ET comes from it's hard launch out of the hole (which is negated by the 35 roll) I don't think 5 cars is unrealistic at all.

I can believe the results. The mach would have been a better race against you from a dig. I bet the mach was hitting 1.8-1.9 60's at the track... While your GT would most likely be spinning out of the hole on street tires. I'd like to see a vid of a dig race between you two.

...My mods of K&N filter, 3" O/R X-pipe and 93 octane tune is worth about 30-40 RWHP, so it SHOULD be stronger than a 100% stock '03-'04 Cobra. ...

Plus 80 more HP than stock?? Not a "Kill"... more like "Murder".
Love those '11 GT's. I gotta find some serious HP someday.
