I recently had the paxton supercharger kit purchased in the link below installed on my son's 2011 Ford Mustang GT.
Paxton Supercharger Complete Kit 2200SL Satin Finish (2011-2014 Mustang GT) 1001863SL (beefcakeracing.com)
We had the kit installed by Deans Performance in Saint Charles, IL. Upon completion of install the car now has a surging idle...from around 600-900rpm. It dyno'd great and made 613RWHP...runs really nicely other than at idle.
I have attached the dyno sheet and video of the surging idle...
Here is a link to the video of the surging idle...
Installer has already done the following trying to fix...
“I took it back apart and I checked the blow off valve and I changed the spring in the blow off valve to see if that was causing the surge and that didn't do anything and then I also reclocked the mass air meter in a few different spots and none of that mattered so I think it's related to the tune or something to do with the throttle body calibration in the tune I'm not 100% sure but it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the intake piping”
He also checked for vacuum leaks.
“ checked it over last night and didnt see any leaks so then i smoke checked it for leaks and didnt find anything.”
Vortech is saying they can't help and the tune the kit came with is all they give...anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm thinking something in the tune (possibly TB tune area). Any help would be appreciated.
