2010 or modified 2008?

I never buy new so last December I purchased a 2008 Shelby GT500 with under 2k miles. Should I wait and buy a low mileage 2010 in December of 2011 or modify my 2008 with FRPP performance package, FRPP handling package, axle-back exhaust, KR short throw shifter and 19" wheels? With the expectations of the 2011 Shelby being so high, I anticipate a lot of used 2010's on the market. Decisions, decisions.

04 or 2011 is a better questions :p

because it is easier to answer....2011. ;-)

Of course, I'd prefer to keep my 2008 500 and buy a '04 Term instead of just a 2011.

I did notice that everyone that advised to you to keep the 08, has the 07-09 body style GT500's. For me the new body style played as big a part, if not the biggest in my descision to buy a 2010 instad of a older model. It has a new fresh face that is not going to look dated, since the 2011 looks basically the same with the exception of the SVT package. There s not really anything you can do to make the 07-09 look like the newer cars, and IMHO the old bodystyle GT500's are starting to look a little dated. The interior and creature comforts on the 2010 are also much nicer than the 07-09's. Again, stuff you really can not change or overcome easily. Just my thoughts on your question though, seems you already had your mind made up though and were just looking for peer reinforcement.

I'd keep the 08 but don't forget you have the clutch TSB looming on the horizon. Assuming you haven't had it done yet you'll get a 2010 clutch when you do.

Actually I always consider arguments with well reasoned logical points. It all comes down to instant versus delayed gratification. The jury is still out.

With what the 2011 has to offer why even think about 2010? Thats if you like the new body better(2010+), my vote would be to mod the hell out of the 08 but thats just me. GL

If I bought a 2011 it would be a low mileage used one in December 2012. And since the world ends on 12/21/12, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it very long.
