This big cat was in serious need of some paint correction!

Insane swirls, scratches, marring, haziness, oxidation, the beginning of clear failure, water spotting, etching, etc…

It took a variety of compounds/pads/etc to get what it ‘liked’ dialed in, and I had to be cautious and conservative in my approach in certain areas in order to preserve the clear and not compromise it in any way.

All in all, this kitty turned out like a black diamond and was one of my greatest transformations to date!

So just heavy oxidation? First look you would think the clear coat was toast. Wild.

Thanks everyone!

V6&V8, yes, at first look I thought it may have been the same, but yes, it was just major oxidation, and the beginning of some clear failure.

After this, I would have been telling them a quality paint job was the answer.

Hey Nasty, I just bought a used car and have the oxidation/clear failure beginning. What is a good product to revive the paint and not cut into the clear and totally destroy the paint?
I have a Flex machine and generally use Adams products. I plan to save the paint with a correction and Adams Ceramic coat spray the car (heard good things about it). Not sure if pics will help or not but it's in need of this kind of attention on the roof and rt front fender; looks like the cats roof in pic #1.

^^^Always start with your least aggressive method/products first. Try his finishing, correcting, then heavy in that order with their respective pads and see if that is giving you the results you are looking for.

Hard to say 100% without seeing it, but tread lightly in the areas where the clear is thin/failing.

Keep us posted!
