I have the opportunity to invest/enjoy one of these for a while due to an acquaintance needing to sell.."quickly."

    800HP Package
    427 Package(NASCAR/handling pkg?)
    ~29K Miles
    Black
    Stock
    No wrecks
    Excellent condition
    No problems

I've seen some of these with low miles going in the 50s-60s; most with the base options. I haven't seen any with almost 30K miles though and I'm a little lost on making an offer.

Thanks ahead of time for your time.

Well I meant more like enjoy it for a year and then sell it for what I paid, assuming I get a great deal and take care of it. Should have just kept my 04 CO Cobra but such is life. Any guess on value? Was there in fact a 800HP option available directly from Shelby?

    Thanks.

Now that would be more doable. Especially if you get a deal on it.
CO Cobra? Now you're talking my language. That would have been one to keep.

Id contact Shelby American to find out what it's Super Snake serial is. 1 of how many Super Snakes produced that year, color, equipment etc.

Problem is that I dont think we have seen the floor on S197 GT500s, not by a long shot. It will be some time after the 2020 GT500 launches. If its a smash hit, I think S197 prices will tank regardless of pedigree or Super Snake status. If its got issues (the 2020 GT500) and gets routinely beaten by S197 Shelby's, thats a different story.

All it takes is one S197 GT500 to take down an S550 GT500 in Mexico and its anyone's guess at where value goes lol.

Thats my opinion though, I might be wrong.

I'd contact Shelby American to verify the build package. For one thing, I'm 99% sure there was no 800HP package in 2007. Maybe since then they've expanded their offerings, but I think 650 was the max they originally offered.

The 427 package was just an emblem from the Las Vegas 427 race that Carroll was sort of involved with that year. *I think.* Again, contact SAI.

I did get pics of the whole invoice from SAI with all the goods listed. Didn't see anything other than 725HP. That was actually listed. So scratching my head also a bit on the 800 claim. Let's say it was a regular SS, any guesses on value @ 29000 miles in great shape always in garage? Louisiana vehicle so never any salt or similar.

Thanks guys for everything so far.

30k, any more and you gotta be willing to lose money. There is a zero miles one on ebay for 56..so..

Try and nail him for 27k if it needs to be quick. Those are the least desireable 500s anyway.

    Yes, yes, I am here......;)

On this 2007 Super Snake, the CSM number assigned by Shelby should be on the dash plate between the center stack A/C vents, on each side door sill plates and in a riveted plate located on the driver side of the radiator core support to the right of the S/C cooling reservoir when standing in front of the car.

The question is........when was this car upgraded? Even today, right now, a person can send a 2007-2014 GT500 to Shelby for a Super Snake upgrade, yes today, and the 800HP and 850HP options are offered......BUT, if the car was upgraded in the 2007-2012 time period, 725 was the first optional HP and then it went to 750 in 2010 or so. Also, does it have Alcoa wheels? If so, then it was a 2012 or earlier build because Alcoa's were discontinued in 2012 and the 2013 -up and all 2007-2014 builds after 2013 got the Modulare 3-piece wheels, not Alcoa's.

Another question.........was the car originally built in Las Vegas? The build site will be listed on that dash plate, Las Vegas, Tasca Ford, Quantum Performance, Sean Hyland, etc. There is a possibility that this car was originally built to the 725 or 750 level and certified to that Super Snake level as required by Shelby and then the owner chose to pay additional $$$ for an upgrade to 800HP? <<I know 900 and 1000 were and still are available previously done through Shelby Motorsports after the original build was complete.

Let's start there........especially the Shelby installed CSM plates with the correct VIN also included on those plates.....

Also, I see many Super Snakes for sale, where confusion comes into play for the casual observer is that all Super Snake are not the same, on the early cars entry level HP was 605 and then later 630 (around 2010) and the optional HP was 725 and later 750. The entry level HP cars in todays market, and I would assume forever, will never bring the $$$ that the optional HP cars bring. Originally in 2008 a 605 was $27,995 and the 725 was $31,995 or course plus the cost of the GT500...........that was a $4K difference........that gap has grown to closer to $10K now, so don't be confused when assessing Super Snake prices, all Super Snakes were/are not created equal and can not be compared as such just because the have "Super Snake" emblems. The current upgrade cost to 850HP for a 2007-2014 GT500 is about $50K, maybe slightly less..........plus the cost of the used GT500. <<Just an FYI.

Yes, I would need to see more information, I agree with others that 29K miles is more than many Super Snake out there, but if the price is adjusted accordingly, it may be a decent buy?

If you are saying "the car was sent back to Shelby for the package" meaning the car was Super Snaked and then sent back for a second time for the 800HP upgrade, I understand........BUT, All Super Snakes are originally Ford built GT500's sold at Ford dealerships and are then sent "post-title" by their owners to Shelby Las Vegas (or one of the "authorized" modification centers) to be upgraded to a Super Snake. If an owner decides to have Shelby do additional mods, they can send it back again for newer options to be added that may have not been available when their car went through the first time.

    Thanks for adding the link.......

Definitely looks like a 725, with the standard Black KB and no $1300 Polished KB option. One thing that I question.........as expensive as original Dura Bright "Super Snake" engraved Alcoa's are in todays world, why would someone refinish them in White and not even a matching White to the car???? except one or more were damaged? Another thing I noticed.........The front brake calipers, the Baer Extreme 6 piston calipers that were standard install before 2013 (Wilwood 2013-up), what happened to the Black letters? The original owner chose the Red w/Black letters which is the same option I chose for my car......the cross over line and brake bleeder are stainless. In the close up picture showing the caliper behind the front wheel, it looks like someone has sprayed the complete caliper Red, painting the original Black letters, stainless, bleeder and cross over line???? Why??

Other than that, the car has some cool options, the Red insert seats, the 40th Anniv, with Red Stripe Package emblems........It would be interesting to see the original Ford window sticker to verify that this was an original Red Stripe optioned car? Of course the original Ford installed dual red stripes would have been removed at Shelby and the Black triple Super Snake stripes installed, and the original Red stripe package floor mats would be replaced by the Super Snake mats.

One thing I can say......"if" a buyer overlooks the items I have questioned above, the Alcoa's refinished and in a non-matching White, the Baer calipers completely sprayed over, etc. and pays anywhere near that BIN price, the original cost of the Super Snake package that was spent by the original owner is holding up very well and would be a recoup of most all of the "Shelby installed parts cost" with maybe a loss of the original Shelby labor cost.

WOW, he has way more in that car than most Super Snake owners. It must have been 2011+ when he sent that car back for the upgrades because only Black stripes were installed before 2011 as part of the "authorized" Super Snake install. There have been a couple of pre-2011 Super Snakes that have come up for sale, one I remember is a 2007-2009 White car with Blue stripes, it looked Great and the owner was claiming 1 of 1, but when the research was done, the car was in fact Black striped at Tasca, certified as a Super Snake with its CSM number "and then" after the original certified build the owner ask Tasca to remove the Black stripes, have the same Super Snake triple stripe pattern made in Blue and then install the Blue stripes. <<So yes, it may have been a 1 of 1, but it was not an "authorized Super Snake" built 1 of 1 with the Blue stripes.......but as I mentioned, it did look good. In 2011 the options opened up for Super Snake stripe colors that were authorized and documented with the original Super Snake build for all 2007-up.

I had the mileage wrong. Somewhere <21K. Previous pictures were pretty bad so I got better copies. Still not great, but you can actually see some stuff in these.
