thanks for letting me run in group-a, brian! i was very comfortable with that group of drivers. to my surprise, i wasnt the slowest car in that run group, either.

fred, thank you again for letting me stash my stuff in your trailer. Wunderkind and I both appreciate it greatly.

i still have the smile headache from having too much fun.

Had a GREAT time watching everyone from Minnesoda enjoy
the SECOND BIGGEST KENTUCKY CASH CROP. I heard there
was 32 orders for the Grape, and several for the Apricot ...

bummer. i havent hosted pwerno in over 12 years now.

i only have shots of you and the truck in the paddock area. you disappeared sunday, and we were in the same run group on saturday. i may have some in-car footage of you discussing your situation with the corner worker on 3, but you might not be visible from that far away....:)

I was only there on Sat. to instruct but I enjoyed myself as well. Nice to put a face to "Shelby Guy" as I have seen many of your posts over the years.

The only problem was the weather on Sat which prevented my student from really letting those 600 ponies of his 514 powered Super Performance Cobra loose.

Craig still told me that he enjoyed his track time with me. I showed him the proper line to maximize his speed through the turns. He has no problem with the straights!

I would say the table from Minnesoda was the winner here ...
All I got back was empty Mason Jars and Orders for MORE !!!

Come on now, I was at that table being forced to drink  and I had no hangover on Sunday. Can't say the same about Saturday morning after drinking Peter's canadian beer on friday night though :poke:

Oh and yes we want more Kentucky fire water:beer:

First race I believe was Dean, Bruce, Thomas
Second race was Dean, Jack Roush Jr., Bruce
I was on track during the presentations so I don't know all the final stuff. And I don't know everyone's last names because I am horrible with remembering them (actually kind of surprised I remembered their first names:dw: ) Someone please fill the rest in and let me know if I got any of them wrong.

If I had to guess it would be the ones drinking Cliff's "shine"? ;-)

Weekend Report:

It was a great, fun weekend. Mother Nature could have been better to us but fortunately she decided the majority of the rain we should receive as a monsoon on Friday night! :dw: We had some sprinkles during the day but not much to speak of. Saturday late in the afternoon it rained pretty hard also.

Thanks to Tony, Brian and the rest of the organizers of the event. I know it takes a considerable effort to put on these events and I just want you ALL to know we appreciate it! :pepper:

In Race one I had nothing for Dean Martin driving the Grand Am Cup car. Dean is a great driver and is in great equipment! I had to drive the wheels off of my car to keep Thomas in my rear view mirror.

Race two, was a bit of a different story. Thomas was hell bent on trying to get around me in a surprise move in turn three and I had to jerk the car to the left in order not to swap paint! Then he ended up over-driving turn 8 on the first lap and went off track and was unable to get the car out of the soft grass. :(

Jack Roush's son was closing on me about mid race (the second race) and I ended up letting him by because I was using the car up keeping him in my mirror. (I guess I should not have had street pads in the rear of my car?) His first time at the track and it didn't take him long before he was spanking me like a redheaded stepchild! It was a good thing he got by me because him and Dean put on quite the show for the fans.!

Both races ran caution free and I would like to thank the AV8SS series for letting us amateur racers in our Cobra R's participate! That is about the extent of the racing that I want to do! Two thirty minute races whipped me like a puppy! :fart:

Maybe when some of the others get back we can hear about any other close competitions during the races.

 :coolman:

I would like to thank everyone for coming out and sharing the weekend with us. It was great seeing old friends again and meeting new ones. Everything went so smooth that I actually had time to visit with people during the day, I really enjoyed that.

Congrats to Bruce, Fred, Craig, and Ken for thier results in the R race, it was great to watch. If Wayne Manor could have kept the clutch in Joes car, I bet he would have added even more excitement to the race.

It's the people that made this event so great, for that I thank you all.

my first "real" race experience was alot of fun even though I was on the fence about running my mostly stock 00R in with a bunch of "real" race cars, but I was determined to get my feet wet, and everything kind of fell into place, from removing the drivers air bag, to running in semi-wet conditions on slicks, and everyone running close but clean racing....I hope the Cobra R challenge race continues, as I plan on doing it again! :coolman: I guess I'm hooked?!?! ;-) :D

Thanks to Tony, Brian, Brion, SCMC, AV8SS, and everyone else that had a hand in making the event happen

So who had the Elise, Noble, and the Ram SRT 10 ?

And was the white GT500 a Ford car or a participant's car ?

not sure about the elise but scott and debbie have a black exige....there were several lotus's (loti?) at the event....the white gt500 was a student, instructed by brian (the shenandoah svtoa event organizer)
