So I didn't get any responses, but I finally got a day off and got the lights working. Basically the original issue was a bad stock Inverter. The 05 speed hut Inverter didn't work at first because the First dude from speed hut that said I should just clip and short the pot was wrong. A call back and some trouble shooting and we figured out that it should be open. When it's shorted it only puts out 7.5vac. Not enough to turn on the lights "basically completely dimmed". With the circuit open, I measured 74.5vac with a 12Vdc source and the lights came on. So I put some heat shrink on the wires and reinstalled. Everything fits as described above and the dash dimmer switch works like it should. Hopefully this helps others with this same issue that have to use the 05 inverter.
