Can anyone recommend the best highest horsepower rated twin disk clutch for a factory t56 10 spline transmission. Lighter the pedal the better. I just had my transmission pulled and it’s going to be rebuilt so would like to swap in a new clutch while I’m at it. My mechanic has personally and from what I saw online is issues with the McLeod clutches. Any on opinions on that and other routes on company’s preferred

Highest hp rated clutch with a 10 spline input is a strange combination. Can I ask why?

I was just generally speakin. I should’ve stated what my power range preferred was first. Ideally I would like to have the car around 550-600 horsepower. So would like somethin that would withstand that.

I'm assuming this is a car that lives on the street and doesn't launch hard? A decent single disc would be fine. Lots of people have gone 600rw with the factory piece. No need for a $1k twin disc. The 26 spline input is good insurance if the car is going to get launched hard, but might be worth doing anyway while the trans is out. Your call.

Yes it lives on the street however I do drive it hard. I just figured with a twin disk the drive ability aspect would make it easier. My clutch was fine before pulling the transmission. Just one of those things might as well replace will it’s out. I do occasionally do clutch dumps. With that being said maybe just replace with a single disk clutch? I would have to have this thing fully installed and then my clutch to shit out shortly after. What would your single disk preferred clutch be?

I'm running the ProMotion 520rwhp cobra clutch (thats what he called it on the phone, but my invoice said "King Cobra" iirc). It's a nice balance of having good street manners and also some capability. It still had some chatter after the first 500 city miles, so I called them up and they taught me a break in procedure which is doing some uphill 2nd gear starts. A handful of those and it's been all I could ask for. Especially at what I paid. Lighter pedal feel than a stock Mach 1 clutch as well.

I should mention I bought my clutch 10yrs ago and I'm still 10 spline (I don't drag race or launch hard, just rolls). What is being offered today in terms of single disc setups, I'm not sure. But ProMotion had great customer service, so if you want advice from some pros, you can call them up.

I would gauge your remaining life on the clutch before just throwing parts at it.

I have almost 300k on the original stock clutch and last time i looked at it it seemed like i could get another few hundred k out of it.

Yes I haven’t weighed out using the same clutch yet. It’s a spec clutch just to add to anyone’s opinions. I will say drove the car about 5 miles one way home, stuck in fourth, then another 5 in fourth as well to the shop. With that being said. It surprisingly wasn’t that bad and there wasn’t a lot of stop and take offs from that gear. I just feathered it as much as I could in order to prevent any major slipping from take off.
