2001 cobra are a POS

I have 1200 miles on my cobra and it has already went through a tranny ,and now it is blowing blue smoke out the exhaust. what the hell is the problem.

ford has not said much i am in the process to see if ford will buy it back. i mean ford can not even find a tranny for it , i also have a wind noise coming throught the seal in the door a rattle some where in the dash, brakes that squeal, a poping noise coming from the irs, and as of tonite it has started surging, backfiring i have to leave from the stop at 3000 and ride the clutch so i does not go dead.

I don't know what could cause that. I can think of some things that could start those problems.

Replaced engine
Replaced rear tail lights (leaked)squeaky noise in dash too
svt logo came off
now the clutch "exploded" and I KNOW how to drive dammit.

Yall sure that squeaky noise from the dash isn't the throwout bearing ?

Does it go away when you put your foot on the clutch ?

My 99 has a squeaky throwout bearing, I'll replace it when my clutch goes out.

hmm yeah, well actually its more of a RATTLE than squeak.
I mean, on my 98GT, I had the throw-out bearing go out, and that was a HELLA loud squeak :mc:

But this happens when the car is vibrating a bit in 2-3rd gears at high rpm.

Egads! I hope you guys get all your problems worked out! I've not had any problems from mine, and hope I don't!!! I've got around 2000 miles on it so far -- have not had it to the track yet, and have only gotten on it hard a few times. Mine is still bone stock too. Do any of you that have had problems have mod's or running N20 or anything? If so, let me know so that I know what mod's to avoid when I do start mod'ing my car!

I have nearly 7000 miles on my 01 Cobra. I've destroyed 2nd, most of 3rd, and 4th. A new tranny is on the way from Tremec. There are no other problems. I had back firing, but that is because I installed O/R piping and no cats create vacuum when you let off the gas. When you apply gas, it backfires. My car, aside from the tranny, is perfect.

how long has your throwout bearing been squeaking?? My bearing went out in my Ranger GT took about 2 months for it to total trash itself......... which left me stranded, had to push start the truck jump in and shift from a roll, just a pain in the ass if you have to drive it that way............
