This spring I took over ownership of my late brother's old Mustang who passed away back in '06 at the age of 21. Back in ‘09 my dad purchased it back from the guy who my brother sold it to in ‘05 and it has been in the family ever since. For the last 12-years it had been driven once or twice a year and kept in storage.

This spring when I got it out of storage to take it for a drive I realized it was in major need of TLC from the previous owner and from years of mostly sitting. It only has 60k miles on it, but to put it lightly the thing was looking rough. My dad isn't much of a car guy and was taking care of it best he could, but it was neglected. We talked and both agreed it made sense to move the title to my name and for me to start taking care of the car.

I’ve spent the summer/fall putting a lot of work into this car. Paint work on the bumpers/fenders, an OEM Cobra hood, side scoops, headlights, grille, tint, polishing, interior pieces, wheels/tires, etc. Here is the result! It’s not done yet, but major progress has been made.

When I was 16 I absolutely loved this car and drove and rode in it any chance I could! It’s great to bring it back to life and keep it preserved for the family and our kids to enjoy.

The car is pretty much stock. Next step, make it go as fast as it looks! (Coyote)

Damn you Scubs Steve! You going to get me to spend money. I'm on the other end of the spectrum with my BAB. Got all the fun go fast parts but clear coat peeling and what not. Was thinking of wrapping but seeing a nice BAB makes me want to go all in with a fresh coat.

That looks great.

The before and after photos show off the amazing transformation. Nice that you now own this really nice GT. A lot of memories in it, I'm sure.

Got to ask. What was your dad's reaction when he saw how it turned out?

He's pretty excited about it. These are all things I wanted to do for years, but my parents just didn't see the need to put the money into it. Once I had ownership of the car, the parts starting showing up in the masses ;)

Very cool that you were able to purchase it back. Sucks that the story revolves around a death in your family man.

I don’t really care for the front bumper, but damn, that car looks sexy as hell.

Would. Sex. Good luck with the go fast adventure, please continue to update.
