Been checking around and some sites advertise 2.5" X-Pypes (brand name) and others advertise 3" X-Pypes. Both have the same part number and a very similar price.
Has anyone ordered a 2.5" X-Pype and been disappointed because it didn't fit, or know the difference if there is one between this and one advertised as a 3"?
I am specifically referring to the XFM45 offered by Pypes through a plethora of vendors here and elsewhere.
I am guessing that some are referring to the ID of the pipe while others are referring to the OD of the pipe, much the way plumbers speak of ID pipe diameters while refrigeration people speak in terms of OD pipe, both being basically the same piece of pipe.
Anyone that can speak with some authority on this question care to chime in?

If it fits the stock over the axle pipes, it necks down to 2.75". They pretty much all do that.

Thanks for the reply. I've noticed that some are advertised as 2.5" and some are advertised as 3", both having the the same part number from Pypes.
Just curious, and also noted that they both required welding in most cases.
