Have a chance to buy a ‘96 convertible. Nice looking car, but it has 133k miles on it. I know it depends on how the car was previously treated, but how many miles is that engine really good for?

I have a 98 with almost 230k. It still runs strong. I’ve beat it to death on the track most of its life too. The IMRC plates got very, very nasty. I just deleted them.

Keep clean oil in it and it'll last a very long time. Try to to take it to redline 14 times a day, maybe 12 or less.

Give it a good look, check fluids if you can, look for all the normal signs of abuse. But 133k isnt anything to worry about really. The IMRC's are probably gunked to shit, but lets be honest, whose arent?
