Well, my wife and I recently purchased Pre-Production #12 (EY). I have found out ours was the Cobra test bed for CA with the Emissions and High Altitude package, making it one of it's own. Previous owner of 9+ years claims to have 175k. I hunted/stalked down the previous (3rd) owner and he had no clue how many miles because he "made over $150k and didn't care." The CarFax lines right up with 75k miles, to the T. The ONLY thing that shows wear, and I mean COMPLETE wear, is the Driver's side seat cushion (Not back rest), and has baffled me since day one. This seat wear suggested to the previous owner that she had almost 200k miles on her. As of today, I finally hunted down the Ford Executive in which this specific Cobra was built for in 92. #12 was built for Ford Executives and brought to several HOLLYWOOD shows and displays until she was auctioned off mid 1993. I asked him my one baffling question "Why is the seat so tore up and everything else is in mint condition?" He responded, "well that's because they had dogs site in the drivers seat for pictures during the shows and displays." This made complete sense with how shredded the seat cushion was. I will now be keeping this seat and adding it to the history section in the Show Display I make. Questions: Can anyone find archived pictures from 1992 with this Cobra at displays, with the bonus of the dog sitting in the seat? Does anyone have the slightest accuracy of the 1-18 still existing, or easier, destroyed? It is said that 1-3 were used indoor for crash testing and never seen the light of day. Any other history to add from the Pre-Pro's?
