Ok guys im looking to build a motor for my coupe. My fathers 1990 302 F-150 oil pump failed. Im thinking this might be a good motor to start with for a rebuild 306-331-347? Im not not sure if this 302 is roller or non roller. Do any of you guys know.

Don't hold me to this, but I think only the HO engines (1985-1995) were roller cam. Around 92-95 the F series got the updated motor with the roller cam and 351 firing order. Regardless, the 302 from a 90 F-150 should have a different firing order than the HO as well.

You can retrofit a roller cam in any of these blocks if they are cast with the roller lifter holddown bosses. These are two threaded bosses in the lifter valley. Most blocks after 1987 have these bosses, and 351W engines after 1995 have them.

351/HO firing order, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

289/302 firing order, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
