Gotta run over to my local Olds dealer to see what tricks they now have up their sleeve for us. Oh wait! LOL!

That is a good video to watch, and does remind us that Oldsmobile at least experimented in the mid to late '80s with the hope of high performance for us in the future. Unfortunately, it never happened. Hell, the 4-4-2 in 1990 was resurrected but was a 2.3L Quad-4 engine with 4 valves per cylinder and 2 camshafts. Oh, the pain! We never saw high performance again after the mighty 1970 4-4-2. The '71 was decent, but the shadow of reduced performance was upon us.

It's funny you say that, the 90 Quad 442 was faster than any 442 after 1972. It also got at least double the fuel mileage.

The engineers used to race the 442s at the back lot during lunch. If you could drive, the W40 442 was a high 14s car and the W41 car in 91 was a mid 14 sec car all day long. Hell, the 90-91 fwd cars made 10hp more than the 86-87s did. The W41 was equal to or better than the ITR years before it was thought up, except for the abs. It liked to fail in hard braking while cornering. GM had to rewrite the software so the Hacker brothers could not die lol.

442 clubs hate it because it isn't RWD. That's fine I guess but you can't hate them because they were slow as they weren't, at least not compared to the last 15 years before the 90-91s.

Even the wiki for the 442 poops on the 90-91s, calling them a marketing ploy despite the fact that it shit all over the preceding 442s a decade plus before.
