After the F100 Raptor is on road this one is next in line. Daily driver pickup with 540 cu in Based off Boss 429. Using Kaase Boss9 heads. Bryant Billet Crank, Carrillo Rods, Diamond Turbo Pistons and of course a Aluminum block. Few sneak peak pics to see how much interest. It will be Twin Turbo'd too! EFI another gotta have.

OP, do you have any reviews/recommendations on parts suppliers you've used? Would be interested in your experiences.

Move on, nothing to see here.

This truck is Eco1. Just a few I bought a 1966 F250 for 300.00 I then bought a wrecked F150 EcoBoost truck with only 6430 miles on it for 3250.00 I wanted a daily driver long distance cruiser and tow rig that got excellent MPG and was a pleasure to drive with all the creature comforts of a new truck. I bought a new chassis from my friendly ford dealer in closest wheelbase I could get then channeled cab over chassis as low as I could get it using the F150 floor, firewall, ALL electronics like trailer sway control, stability control, TPMS, anti roll anti skid full ABS, I also used the HVAC, Electronic steering, Steering column and full dash. Fantastic cruiser it was. It also had the Class v trailer hitch etc

I have some pretty strong opinions on parts suppliers . . . Some good some not so good. Total depends on what type of parts. If at all possible I tend to look for NOS parts first.

At 45-50 MPH for 100 miles got a touch over 30 on 91. Only did that once. 65 cruise 24-25 mpg. It made huge diff after 50 for every 5 mph over. 80 MPH but some winds it was 18 mpg.

Typical on E30 which I ran most of time was 20-22 mpg nice local driving. Don't think I ever got worse than 17 but that included a few 1/4 mi passes.

Goal with this engine is 24 mpg at 65 mph. Other truck had a 3.15 rear gear and 6R80. This truck has a 3.50 gear with the 10R80 and only a 27" tire. Let's hope I can hook it up with a 285/40-18 tire. This truck should be a good 500 lb lighter. Dragstrip weight close to 1000 lb less.

Short video update on the Raptor engine with 10R80 into my '66 F100 Short Bed
This was a one shot video with zero editing. Finally, starting to look like a bit of progress has been made. Any guesstimates what truck will weigh?

That’s a beautiful and unique project! That’s going to surprise a lot of people when it walks away from them quickly

Today's update video. Hung the grille and upper n lower valances on along with bumper to check fit of the Raptor Transmission cooler and my Ram Air setup. A old velocity stack I had on my '70 Boss 302 with a tunnel rammed 429SCJ that was 40 something years ago. It was my first car at 18 yrs old.

Hoping to weigh the truck in next few days or maybe even today. Only parts missing are front fenders!

If I can meet the 600/600 goal at tire it should run pretty well. (E50) It was 3820 lb with the 482" FE power so hoping it will be less now but have added AC, large fuel tank etc but a lot of that weight came off front and went towards rear so should have better Front to Rear Bias %. Sure hope its under 3700 but who knows! The 10R80 is double the weight or more than the CJ C-6 was. Might be 3900 lbs. Will soon find out.

Here I thought 4000lbs would have been pretty good.

Front weight as it is now. Front done except fenders which are pretty light. Just a base weight as up on 4 post hoist and can only do one end at a time. Accuracy in question because of weight shift. Added a lot of stuff to truck and that 10R80 is one heavy beast. But, I am sure it will make up for it in performance over the C-6 GV OD that I had in it prior
