I hope this isn't a repost and I hope some of you have the patience to watch it.

This is one of the saddest crashes I've ever seen in motor racing history, I wish it was recognized a little more.

"At 6.26 pm, June 11th 1955, On the home straight early in the Le Mans 24-Hour
race, Pierre Levegh's Mercedes 300 SLR smashed into the crowd, killing 83
people and injuring 120 more.
It remains the worst disaster in motor racing history."

Wow, thanks for sharing that.

That was a very well put together documentary about something that should not be forgotten.

i actually watched this exact documentary a few weeks ago. i couldn't imagine what those people were thinking as parts of the car were flying towards them. it's crazy to think that back then the drivers preferred to for go seatbelts because being thrown from the car was a better option

I have that on my DVR at home. Looking forward to watching it.....well, as much as you can look forward to watching a show about such a tragedy.

Wow! That was devastating. I had never even heard of this crash. Certainly one I'll now never forget. The loss of life and number of injuries was staggering!

I am shocked the race continued... I know the saying "the show must go on" but damn... too many lives were lost...
