Spark plug gap for 13-6kit

Van, wanted to double check gap, you said .28, I've read in other places for increased boost on these 13,14 Shelbys it should be .30 can we confirm this either way?

Thx, Gordon .....

What is the average increases in HP for the 13-6 kits. Second; what should I expect to pay a good shop for an install.

.28 or .30 will work either way. Lately we've been using .028

The 13-6 kit without pulleys can literally be done at home in an hour or two with basic hand tools.

If you add a Lower Pulley average install is 3-4 hours at a shop

If you add an upper Pulley average install is 1-2 hours at a shop. (this one can be done at home too with hand tools)

Thanks for this information. Now, the second part of the question, what would be an average increase in HP & Torque. Third question, are any exhaust system modification needed to make the fairly expensive purchase worthwhile?

Average increase in horsepower and torque all depends on the car.

On average without pulleys I've seen 60 to 90 rwhp and rwtq. Each car is different. No Exhaust mods are required or necessary unless you want to make more power.

So Van, I allready have the FRPP Res Del tube. Not a carbon fibre fan anyway. With TB & tune with that tube will the power & sound of the S/C be equal to the 13-5 or would it be better to go with the JLT plastic tube?

Good question. No. The power and sound will not be equal between a FRPP Resonator Delete and a JLT Plastic CAI and Dual 65MM Throttle Body. The larger CAI allows more air flow as does the throttle body which enables the supercharger to ingest more air and produce more boost which also produces more supercharger whine. I measured a boost increase of 2 additional PSI with the JLT versus the FRPP Resonator delete.

Ok, so with the 13-5 kit & the plastic tube, a guy could still see the 60-90 HP gain plus the killer S/C whine?

One more ? Then I'll leave you alone for awhile. Lol So the only diff in the 13-5 & the 13-6 is plastic tube vs carbon? They are the same I.D. , same benefit? Same 60 a 90 ish HP gain?

Hey Van got everything installed, 13-6, 10% OD, LT headers, off road H, C&R heat ex., numbers on a Dyno Jet came in at 659.8 rwhp 691.2 rwtq, torque seemed about what I expected but rwhp seemed a little low, my specialist said tune could use 2% more fuel, it came in pretty flat ranging from 12.1 to 12.3, he said to ask Jon if he would want to adjust that, typically he likes to see 11.8. What do you think? I know Dyno to Dyno will vary, most cars with same mods seem to be coming in at 710-730 rwhp

Your thoughts?

What were they measuring A/F with? Tail Pipe Sniffer?

What was the correction factor? Too many variables. Sounds like the car was heat soaked possibly or you had some less than great 93 octane and timing was being pulled by the knock sensor.
