Many of you guys done much for pulls vs the older 5.4 cars? Did a few pulls with a buddies modded 12. Hes very impressed with how my stock car runs. Hes running a low 600hp wheel tune, with a Kenne bell 2.6, throttle body, cai and off road x-pipe. From a 40ish roll, I pulled 2 or 3 cars on him consistently. His car sounds killer though. Hes got a 680whp tune file as well, which he wants to switch to and see how we end up. I told him I'm game when he is, lol.

The end of October we have a local shop that has a dyno event going. We will both be going. I'd love to see what both cars show for power and torque curves. The extra displacement in the newer cars must do wonders for the torque curve. I've never been in a 5.4 car for long, so I don't have a seat of the pants comparison.

Either way, great looking cars sitting next to each other!

My current 2007 build is based off parts your 2013 currently already has. I can only imagine where yours runs with a few mods.

I've read tons on the easy hp these cars make, and its certainly impressive. But how a car puts power down, and how usable it is, obviously is more important than what the actual number is. I've never seen his cars power curve, so for all I know his 616hp tune may only make that power right at the end of the rpm range, but I dont know for sure.

Hell, my v6 car puts power down really well with a bunch of mods done. Runs within .1-.3 of my buddies 17 2ss Camaro in the 1/8th mile. If I could find another 75hp, it would be a dangerous track weapon.

The 13/14s also have better cams to start with. He must have his KB turned way down which is likely killing his mid range quite a bit.

It is. With the cool temps up here in Maine, hes got it down to a more sane level. Car made 720whp with the "big tune" on pump gas. So what it's making under peak on the small tune, I'm not sure.

The upcoming dyno day, I'm sure he will dyno both tunes to see where the car is at. That's what I'm curious about, the curve and power under peak.

Owned an 11 & 14 till Sept. last year, both modded to within a couple of whp of each other by the same shop.
The 11 had 3.55's, 14 has 3.73's.
Might have made for an interesting race..

Prefer might be the wrong word.
When I ordered the 11, it wasn't " everything " I wanted.
I was unwilling to spend $ 3500.00 on the SVTPP package to get the color combo I really wanted. ( SGM / red stripes got you the narrow stripes, which I don't care for )
Also, Recaro seats were not an option in 2011.
The 11 is a ( 1 ) option car, the glass roof.
When I decided to order the 14, I got everything I wanted, SGM / red stripes.
The 14 is a ( 2 ) option car, the glass roof, & Recaro seats.
But the 11 was always my " go to " drive. ( Barton shifter & Spec clutch )

How did they feel in terms of power through the curve since they were pretty much equal peak

An 07-12 car with a trinity TVS, trinity injectors, and a large throttle body is a 650 whp car on pump gas--stock pulleys.

Mine made 643 and the torque of the TVS hit you like a Mack truck. The KB blowers, from what ive read, are pretty underwhelming in the lower boost levels (under 20 psi) compared to the TVS.

I would have liked to pulley down to a 2.4 with a 10% lower and add E85. Those mods would have given me another 100 whp.

The 5.4 is no slouch. It wakes up just as nicely as the 5.8 once you start modding.

OP, not sure why he didnt pull you if your power is basically the same (600rwhp for both). The 2011 although doesnt have carbon DS, is lighter because of the smaller brake rotors all around (not to mention smaller brake calipers too) and I believe smaller wheel setup. The trinity GT500 has 19 front 20 rear right?

What I was curious about is the power under the peak. I think saying my car is make 600 wheel is a bit unlikely, probably more in the 570 if it's still healthy. His makes 616 wheel with the current tune, but I dont know if it's a big spike with the extra boost that 2.6 makes at the top end. He may be down 20 or 30 hp from my car in the middle rpm range.

In another couple of weeks, I'll have both cars on the same dyno, on the same day. I'll make sure to try and get his chart to compare to mine, and see how they compare.

And yes, mine has the staggered 19s and 20s. Both of us are running 305s in the rear as well. His car I dont believe is the track pack car either, cause I think it has the base wheels. No recaro seats either.

The answer is most likely in the torque curve and my guess is that your 5.8 TVS has more midrange and average torque in the rpm range you raced.
My car with only 4.10s, tall 20" Nitto DRs on Alcoa SS wheels and a Lund 93 tune (and that's it, still stock paper filter), went 11.03@128+. The point is that the TVS 5.8 combo even in stock form is potent!
