Driving the wifes car today and all of a sudden the 1-2 shift is very jolty. Rest of the shifting isnt as bad.

Car is regularly serviced and has 168k miles on it.

Transmission, to me, doesnt seem like its slipping.

No cel.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Pop the hood and rev the engine. If it moves a significant amount, you'll know it has a bad mount or two.

Or look around with a flashlight at the mounts. You should be able to see if they are cracked/severely worn.

Oh, the most found problem on the Cobalts is a pretty known issue: Everything from the Front license plate bolts back is prone to failure prematurely. :D You are welcome.

Ive had mine for 10 years and she has 168k on it. Ive only had to replace the throttle body and one shock.

Guess i lucked out?
