    Hi Gang,

My friend and I decided to have some Easter Sunday fun today. Beautiful weather outside...about 75 and sunny. He owns a 2005 hayabusa. Exhaust, extended but otherwise stock. He is the original owner and can ride the hell out of this bike. He's one of those guys who can ride it sideways with the tire spinning etc. Not a novice rider to say the least.

We decided to do 50-150 rolls on a nice long stretch of 3 lane road. Plenty of room and zero traffic.

To be honest I thought it would be close but as the race went on he would pull harder and harder on me. I was wrong.

First race (expecting the worst) not only did I pull on him but I stayed pulling until we shut down. I was a little shocked as I know his bike is probably a low 140's trap and my car should be near that or maybe slightly higher. He was maybe 10-15 feet behind me...cant really say how many lengths as it was a slow pull.

Second race same exact result. I shut down at around 160 seeing if that made any difference but it didn't.

Feeling pretty good after 2 wins against a busa!

We pulled over afterwards and he demanded a ride in the vette. Haha. He then told me maybe his bike was due for a tune up! lololol.

My mods are in my sig. I'm making a bit more power as I'm running race fuel currently.

Have you had the z06 at the drag strip?

Not yet. I bought a set of DR's and rims this winter though. Was thinking about going today but they were closed for easter. In years past they were open on easter. I like to go when there's nobody there. Can't stand when someones oil pan etc blows up on the track and I get stuck in a lane for 3 hours! haha

If you put a beating like that on a busa, she's gonna surprise you at the track. Everything I read is those bikes trap mid 140s all day long. Crazy!

Nice that you were pleasantly surprised how well you did against the Busa. Like @gimmie11s said, she's gonna surprise you at the track.

His bike better be mid 150s trap speed. My 03 bone stock ran low 10s and 150. Every now and then I could pull off a high 9.

I'm perplexed, but good kill nonetheless! I don't think at 815/833 I'd stand a chance against a Hayabusa/any liter plus bike, but I also feel like I could cover a 700HP Corvette. Interested to see what your car does.

OP, you gotta get these on video. Also sounds highly unbelievable when you say he is an excellent rider.

People with experience with the hayabusa, how does it compare to the 2012+ S1000RR?

The 1000 is lighter and more nimble. The Hayabusa is a big heavy missile that loves a straight line. The Hayabusa is also much more comfortable to ride.

In general, for the most part, excluding the 1% of examples (have I made that clear enough? lol), an S1000RR is a good bit faster than even a Gen II Hayabusa.

I meant how are they performance wise. If these have 172hp, the RR should have it covered with more power, lighter weight and a quick shifter. Excluding a shitty rider.

Ahh there you go, answered my question. +1

A well ridden second generation Hayabusa should go low 10s, high 9s at mid-to-upper 140s. I think the record for showroom stock is something like 9.70 @ 148. Even if it's a poor rider, it's still a 145MPH 1/4 mile bike assuming the rider doesn't bounce the limiter.

I have a hard time believing a 700HP Corvette actually pulled a bike length or two on a 145MPH bike.

Sorry OP, not purposely trying to shit on your thread, but you've been good with video in the past and now we have nothing dammit. I want to see it, I want to believe it!

A Hayabusa will find 145-150 quickly. Even the first gen. I know personally. I had one that was stock, and one that was highly modified for the track. The power to weight ratio for a bike vs the car, plus the aerodynamic properties put them into different worlds.

My bike in ths photo was weighed at the drag strip for fun one night. It had a full tank of fuel and was under 700lbs. hayabusa%202.jpeg MyBusa001.jpeg

Hayabusa - means Falcon in Japanese!
    Had to look it up.

    Good kill,

    Carry on

P.S. I always try to bait bikes but they never run me :(

Most riders ignore cars. As a general rule four wheeled cages are an easy kill and not worth messing with.

    I get that vibe

My car looks very stock and most that see/ride in it think it is some older loud mustang

They have no idea it makes 800 wheel
