Just getting finished converting my cobra from cable driven clutch to hydraulic system using modern drivelines conversion kit. It should be ready for its first test drive tomorrow! I personally haven’t seen this done before on a DOHC motor before. Feel free to ask any questions and I will respond as fast as possible.

Interested in your impressions once you've had some seat time. This conversion is probably worth it just to get away from these total pos throw out bearings the factory cable systems use.

This is the third hydraulic clutch thread in the last week or two.

Would love to hear a follow up as well after some seat time.

While I feel like I want to keep my car stock as it came from the factory as best I can, I do sometime wish these things came with a hydraulic clutch at times.

I will keep you updated on how it is is. I wish I was that way but being young and having a cobra makes it hard to leave it alone haha.

I wanted to do this years ago and had a bit if a hand in convincing MDL that it would sell, then I lost my career and cash flow.

Sid was going to do an article on this kit, but it never happened.

Glad to see these threads!
Hope it goes well for you and MDL.

I am interested in what their cam design does for the pedal feel.

I’m honestly surprised it took this long for it to become a thing
They started looking at this at around 2014 or so. I think they took the time to design something good....after looking at the lousy McLeod design.

The kit has been around for a while now. It just starting to take hold now.

I’m sorry to hear that man I hope all is well. It is a very nice kit but it wasn’t a direct fit. I had to do some grinding to the master but not a whole lot. Definitely worth it.

Thank you and it's nice to know that some companies actually listen to enthusiasts.

I have been trying to get a few fiberglass manufacturers to make a simple hood for these cars for year.

The idea is just something smooth but still raised that will allow us to mount vents like those from race louvers or track spec cleanly. The idea would allow us to mount whatever we want where ever we want. To date not one single company has responded to me or hinted at the slightest bit of interest.

Something like smooth cowl hood or a 2000R hood without the vents?

Yes. Basically the saleeen extreme hood minus the vents.

I bought this hood from TruFiber and later found out the vents actually sit about 1-2 inches forward of the optimal location to do their job well.

Since they make this hood I contacted TruFiber with the idea and they basically blew me off. Kind of upsetting that they would even consider it.

Which size master did you use?

Did you consciously choose the master with remote reservior instead of the integrated reservoir?

I’m getting ready to do this as soon as I talk myself into pulling the tranny. On jackstands . Lying on my back….
